For years, u.s. coast guard regulations required boat manufacturers to use august 1 of the previous year as the cutoff date for the next model year. for example, a boat built in september 2011 could be called a 2012 model, but if it was built in july, it had to be sold as a 2011.. Id my boat make and model august 5th, 2010, 12:31 pm. i have a 1991 freedom marine cuddy cabin, 19 ft, i/o mercuriser 4.3l v6, 2bbl carb. when i try to lookup the nada boat value there are several models in the 19 ft length and i dont know how to id the specific model number. this boat is no longer being manufactured and freedom marine is long. boat year make and model The previous owner had used an electric trolling motor on it but never registered it. i bought it with a bill of sale, but he did not know the make or model. there is no hull id tag on it, just a small tag on the front. but i need the make and year to pay my sales tax so i can get it registered.. Re: need help with boat year and model (larson) look for the hid (hull identification number) on the rear of the boat, ususally on the right side just below the rubrail. all boats manufactured after 1972 were required to have them. the last 2 numbers will give you the boats model year..
