boat doesnt plane
Nearly all outboard runabouts are designed to plane, but they don't always plane efficiently. when they don't, there can be a substantial loss of speed and an increase in fuel bills.. Some users also report reduced exhaust noise when the boat is on plane. but the big advantage is in the boost at take-off. a well-set-up boat in the runabout or bass boat category should get on top in 4 to 5 seconds, and the foils make that possible in many cases with packages that previously took 8 to 10 seconds to get up, if they ever made it.. I second zum's suggestion. try getting that motor in as close to the transom as possible if it won't come down to plane first. if that doesn't do the trick you might want to add some weight to the bow by putting your gear up there and all. you will only be able to go so fast if it won't get up on plane but i would think a 25 should make that fly..
