Steam boats, steam engines and models and steam fittings . . . welcome. we've been building steam boats here at rappahannock boat works for over 15 years now. in 2004, we added tiny power so we could supply good, reliable steam engines and engine models to our customers. and in 2010, we added steam fittings--valves, gauges, pipe fittings, etc.. small boat steam engine The engine works by using heat from a candle to evaporate water, which creates steam to form jets that propel the engine. to start, cut the bottom off of a soda can and place a tea light in it. then, slide the copper tubing through 2 holes in the can, place it in a bowl of water, and bend the ends so they are submerged.. This collection, from one of the northwest steam society’s founding members, contains over 22 steam whistles, 30 gauges, all sorts of valves, and misc. boat equipment, including ships’ wheels, air horns, water pumps, port lights, ventilators, a little bit of atlas engine parts , and tons of books!.
